Dutch GAAP & UAE VAT compliance automated
Dutch Foundations ran construction and professional services across three entities on fragmented systems with no consolidated financial view. SQIT deployed Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with custom billing, sub-contract management, and UAE-compliant payroll. Manual processes were eliminated, and payroll compliance is now full across all entities.
Dutch Foundations was established in 1989 in Abu Dhabi and is a full-service ground engineering company with projects across the GCC. With sister companies in Dubai, Iraq, Oman, and Qatar, it has completed over 4,000 projects and is a leading name in regional ground engineering.
Running a ground engineering business across multiple GCC countries means managing construction, infrastructure, and professional services under different entities, currencies, and regulatory regimes at the same time. For a foundation with sister companies in Dubai, Iraq, Oman, and Qatar, getting one clear financial picture across all of them isn’t a back-office task, it’s central to how the business is run.
For a while, each entity operated with its own systems and processes. But as Dutch Foundations expanded across the region, the lack of a single connected system started showing up everywhere, from billing to compliance to basic reporting.
The foundation faced significant operational and financial hurdles that impeded its multi-national growth.
Together, these gaps meant leadership couldn’t get a real-time, accurate view of the business, and compliance risk grew alongside the company’s regional expansion.
SQIT implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the unified ERP backbone, augmented with purpose-built custom modules and Square People, SQIT’s own proprietary HR and Payroll solution, to meet specific GCC and Dutch compliance standards.
Together, these modules turned Business Central into a single, compliant platform connecting finance, projects, and HR across every entity.
Leveraging Business Central’s intercompany capabilities, the foundation now enjoys a unified financial view across different currencies and regional tax requirements, including Dutch GAAP and UAE VAT. The custom progressive billing and sub-contract modules allow automated revenue recognition tied to certified work completion.
Transitioning to digital HR and automated asset management has provided a complete transaction history and approval logs, giving the foundation stronger governance and compliance across its multi-entity structure.

By deploying Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, SQIT eliminated 100% of Dutch Foundations’ manual processes and achieved full UAE localized payroll compliance across its multi-entity rollout.
